Following are brief descriptions of Adult Sunday School Classes offered at Kalamazoo First Church:

Adult Classes:

  • Guiding Lights, led by Dave Meadows in Room #108
This class, primarily composed of senior adults, utilizes Nazarene Publishing House’s Quarterly. Feel free to join this friendly, prayerful group as they meet each Sunday morning during the Sunday School hour.

  • Circle of Friends, led by Ray Lage in the Cafeteria
The purpose of this class is to better know and understand God’s will for our lives. This is done through learning the principles and the very nature of God himself. Our lessons are designed by the Nazarene Publishing House and are better known as the Quarterly. A new topic of emphasis is introduced every thirteen weeks. The format of the class time is that of open discussion where participation is encouraged and welcomed. The Holy Spirit has full control over the lesson content and class time. The needs and concerns of the people are more important than lesson agendas. This class is unique in that it has no barriers as to age or gender. This is a come-as-you-are class. We currently meet in the cafeteria during the Sunday School hour. Coffee and donuts are available during class time. Come and see why we are a Circle of Friends.

Young Families, led by Vince McVay in the Choir Room
This class of young married couples study in a a video/discussion format.

Bunch of Believers, led by Joyce Aulds, meets in Room #102
    and has various topical studies.

Sunday Night Live! During the summer (June through August), all the Sunday night Bible Fellowship classes join into one 6:00 PM service called Sunday Night Live! These services combine skits, devotionals, praise teams, object-sermons for kids, and testimonies. Potluck snacks follow each service with a special weekly theme.
