to First Church! In one God, the creator of all things, who reveals Himself as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In Jesus Christ, who was born of the Virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was raised from the dead, and ascended into Heaven where He intercedes to God for us. In the Person of the Holy Spirit who is present with believers and is active in the work of convincing the world of sin. In the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures which includes the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that the Scriptures are without error concerning all things necessary to salvation. That all people are sinners both by nature and act and that they need God’s forgiveness and cleansing. That God has made forgiveness of sins possible for all mankind. However, He will not force Himself on anyone. That all those who admit their guilt of sin, then repent and turn away from their sins, will receive God’s free gift of eternal life. That God graciously forgives and forgets every sin that is brought to Him with a sincere heart. That beyond the forgiveness of sins, we need the fullness of God’s Spirit in our lives. As we surrender our entire selves to God, He will fill our hearts with love and empower us to live victoriously. That the body of believers, called the Church, must continue the redemptive work of Christ in the power of the Spirit through holy living, evangelism, discipleship, and service. In the sacrament of baptism and encourage all Christians to be baptized. In the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper as a declaration of Christ’s sacrificial death. God heals and we urge our people to pray for healing. We also believe that God uses medical science and that these agencies should not be refused. That Jesus Christ is coming again and that everyone will face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments. We invite you to become one of the more than a million and a half people who have made their spiritual home - the Church of the Nazarene.
